We offer custom vacuum forming services focused on one-off vacuum forming prototypes and single piece vacuum forming. This is ideal for testing, display models, and other low-quantity needs. We work with a range of thermoplastics and can form parts with unique shapes and dimensions.

Vacuum Forming Process

Nitriam LLC offers custom vacuum forming for prototypes and single-part runs, including mold creation from 3D models. We can form parts up to 2ft x 4ft in various thermoplastics—ideal for testing, displays, and limited-quantity production.

Vacuum Form Tooling

At Nitriam LLC, we create vacuum form tooling using 3D printed molds, ideal for rapid prototyping and short-term production runs. We can assist with creating a positive mold design of your part and perform post-processing as needed.

3D Printed Bucks & Mold Design – Custom male tooling created from provided CAD files or physical references, printed for quick and precise turnaround
Tool Post-Processing – Smoothing, sealing, and reinforcement to ensure proper forming and help mold longevity
Limited Part Production – Low-quantity forming services using a tool for test fits, samples, prototypes or display models

Mold Design & Fabrication

A custom mold is designed using CAD software and machined from materials like wood, aluminum, or composite. Precision here ensures accurate replication of shapes and details during forming.

Material Preparation & Clamping

A thermoplastic sheet (e.g., ABS, acrylic) is cut to size and securely clamped into the forming machine. Proper tensioning prevents wrinkles or uneven stretching.

Heating & Vacuum Forming

The sheet is heated until pliable, then draped over the mold. A vacuum rapidly removes air, pulling the material tightly against the mold to capture its contours.

Trimming & Finishing

Excess material is cut away, and edges are smoothed. Secondary processes (e.g., drilling, painting) are applied to meet functional or aesthetic requirements.
